Below please find information regarding the 2008 campaign season. Additional information can also be found in the documents section of the website.

Write-In Candidates
Eligible students may run as “write-in” candidates for any race in the general election on February 27th & 28th.  Interested students should review the candidates’ information packet and other election documents prior to campaigning. The committee is available during regularly staffed office hours to answer any questions and help candidates better understand the election process.  The following races are currently uncontested:

  • Graduate At-Large Senator
  • Columbian College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Senator
  • School of Business Graduate Senator
  • Law School Senator
  • Graduate School of Education and Human Development Senator
  • Elliot School of International Affairs Graduate Senator
  • School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Graduate Senator
  • School of Public Health and Human Services Undergraduate Senator
  • School of Public Health and Human Services Graduate Senator
  • School of Medicine and Health Science Undergraduate Senator
  • School of Medicine and Health Science Graduate Senator
  • College of Professional Studies Undergraduate Senator
  • College of Professional Studies Graduate Senator

Pursuant section 7109 of the committee charter, and as expanded upon by the student court in Lewis vs. JEC (1999), non-registered candidates are still subject to campaign rules and violations. Any complaints received in this manor are held without action until such a time when the write-in candidate wins a race or competes in a run-off election.
